“Think 5, A New Way of Thinking is comprised of the following components: Thoughts, Actions, Effects, Results, and Solutions. The components are presented in an order that will aid the reader in understanding how thoughts are connected to their actions, their actions affect others, and their actions produce results that can possibly destroy their future should they decide to act upon a negative thought. This is why Think 5 finds it necessary to discuss the importance of thinking critically before acting upon a negative thought.
Within each component, Think 5, A New Way of Thinking uses time increments of 5 minutes, 5 days, 5 weeks, 5 months, and 5 years to assist the reader in seeing the impact of their decisions in a small and large time span. By doing so readers will be able to make better decisions by recognizing that:
1) Their THOUGHTS influence their actions;
2) Their ACTIONS have an effect upon others; and
3) The EFFECTS of their actions yield positive or negative RESULTS known as consequences.
By using time increments to peer into the future, it is hoped that individuals will begin to think critically before acting upon a negative thought therefore enabling them to have a chance for a better future.
Think 5 is founded on the belief that you can be a person who thinks critically before acting and that you do care about the effect that your actions and consequences have upon yourself and others.
